Blue Transplant

An image I invented working with a friend on a painting series. In it there's a society of praying mantis' and a great avocado tree and stuff. The series is supposed to tell a story only using imagery.

One mantis uses the avocados magical energy to get super powers or something. We haven't mapped it all out yet. But thats whats going on here i guess. He has human teeth on his arms instead of spikes. My friend came up with that. I wish i could have. So I gave him luna moth wings and antenna.

I posed him with a feeler inquisitively on his chin because the friend I'm working with is the same one I painted in Blue Mantis [link] so his pondering like her in that.

Mostly it was an experiment to see what would happen it i pushed wet ink around with an air brush pen. I think I'll use it again. Could be a cool way to make brain synapse and nerve cells.
